Whilst the AoFAS Academy does not provide formal accredited qualifications, it does confirm that the student is serious. and keen to study and learn so that they can hone their craft, gaining a vast wealth of knowledge. An attribute which demonstrates an invaluable transferable skill to any prospective employer and/or UCAS (The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service); this is a UK-based organisation whose main role is to operate the application process for British universities.
What is the AoFAS Academy?
AoFAS Academy is a hub for learning.
The very heart of it is our Knowledge Base. An ever growing archive of articles relating to first aid and medical topics.
The range and scope covers everything from treating a broken finger to sutures and what to do with a severed limb.
It isn’t about learning how to stitch a wound but more about understanding the elements of the procedure, the equipment and methods. So we don’t expect someone to read any of our articles and feel confident enough to carry out surgical procedures!
AoFAS Academy members could be those who wish to develop a career in the medical profession and prefer to begin a pre-study program.
Pre-hospital care begins with first aid and dealing with an incident or accident prior to the arrival of the ambulance.
This is the main part of the learning scope within the AoFAS Academy.
Expanding from basis first aid, we have articles that focus on advanced first aid and then progress into assisting the paramedic.
There’s lots in the AoFAS Academy for eeveryone.
The cost of membership to the AoFAS academy is just £3.50 per month.
What you get for £3.50 Monthly
Access to the vast majority of the the Knowledge Base, some content is not available to you and is exclusive to AoFAS members.
You also receive free monthly courses, these are the same as the top quality courses for AoFAS members and you also have the option to take a self assessment question sheet and if you would like a certificate, there is a small admin charge of £5.50. It isn’t compulsory, not everyone would want a certificate or diploma for every course that we publish.
The same fee also applies to AoFAS members.
Clearly, just one course is incredible value and if you studied 12 courses in a year, (and more if you wish), the total cost would be a tiny fraction of their retail value.
It is important to understand that AoFAS Academy is not membership to AoFAS and you cannot use the AoFAS crest or claim to be a member.
AoFAS Academy members do not received free eBooks but do receive offers of ebooks at heavily discounted rates.
So in summary, the £3.50 monthly subscription gives the AoFAS academy member access to the vast majority of the AoFAS Knowledge Base, a monthly top quality medical or first aid course and regular ‘test your knowledge’ quizzes.
Not only are these quizzes great fun as well as a challenge, it gives you the opportunity to research topics within the AoFAS Knowledge Base.
